Minox 35 Shutter States

Home/default position – Both open and close lever springs are in a relaxed state while both latch springs are stretched (ready to latch). Shutter is closed

The shutter engage pivoting mechanism(not seen here) pushes up the open lever and both open and close levers are latched and springs stretched (Shutter is engaged). The latch springs are now relaxed.

Solenoid triggers the open latch, spring pulls down the open lever, shutter opens. While close lever remains latched. Once again for the shutter to open and remain open, the close shutter lever has to be latched.

Solenoid triggers the close latch, spring pulls up lever, shutter closes. This is a healthy cycle of the shutter system.

Close lever is not latched while open lever is latched.

Solenoid triggers the open latch, spring pulls down the open lever and since the close lever is not latched, it also moves up to home position. Shutter blades remain close. (blank frame).

Close lever not latched

The 2 rings that controls the movement of the open and close shutter blades/leafs (not seen here). The outer ring with the open lever(right side), the smaller inner ring with the close lever(left side) and a small ridge(red arrow).

When the shutter engage pivoting mechanism pushes up the open lever, it then pushes against the ridge of the inner ring moving the close lever on the left side down.
