Notes:
Types of micro controllers that can be used: Arduino Mini, Attiny, ESP32, etc.
Only a single LDR or Photo Diode is required in this design.
ISO selector- replacing capacitors with different resistor values.
Using the Batt test button for other functions as well such as Bulb(B) mode or Self Timer (for EL) and using a LED as an indicator. (for eg: pressing 3 times to activate Bulb mode)
A rechargeable 3.7v battery can be used but present solenoids have to be replaced with solenoids that can be triggered at 3v or lower. But let’s keep to the original solenoids (4.5v) because they are robust quality components.
With precise timings, its possible to achieve accurate higher shutter speeds at smaller apertures.
Program mode is now possible for older Minox cameras (EL-GT). This is why leaf shutters are cool.
Wi-Fi / Blue tooth – Remote trigger with specific shutter times, B mode.
Settings (ISO,Aperture & Shutter), date & time, lighting (EV) and other information feedback.
Using the rewind lever as a rotary switch for manual mode.
This solution can be easily applied to other ‘early’ electro-mechanical cameras with manual focusing. For auto focus cameras:- The signal/data from the active beam focusing system has to be extrapolated and converted into focusing steps.
Other ideas: Using phase array sonar or LIDAR for focus distance measurement.
